pjm Posted January 22, 2018 Share #1 Posted January 22, 2018 Here's something you don't see every day, a WW1 helmet conversion to a shower head. This is a very well made contraption with a metal pipe system mounted around the brim circumference and over the top. Brim pipe is pierced along its entirety to allow shower effect. Rework is very old and I've owned this for 30 years or so. Could it be a trench shower? Decontamination rig? Or a farmer's watering device? Anyone ever see something similar? McDermut99 Posted January 23, 2018 Share #4 Posted January 23, 2018 Not that's something you don't see very often! My first thought was possibly used for gas decontamination?
cmaher55 Posted January 23, 2018 Share #5 Posted January 23, 2018 I've seen a few mods, for motorcycles, planters, Halloween, peace marches, dung scoopers, pasta strainers, but never like this...... Does that piping have holes or something along the perimeter of the pipe....? Interesting... Regards, Chris

They go all the way around and are tightly spaced. Even the connector has holes.

Cool, basically a walking shower or lawn sprinkler if you are hooked up to a garden hose...! Chris
cmaher55 Posted January 23, 2018 Share #8 Posted January 23, 2018 Put that on a post or stake in the middle of your lawn and presto...! Chris
themick Posted January 23, 2018 Share #9 Posted January 23, 2018 An example of one of the first beer bongs. All that's missing is the container for the beer which was attached to the top of the helmet. Steve
pjm Posted February 2, 2018 Author Share #10 Posted February 2, 2018 I know the minute I part with it I'll find a photo of a field shower in France or a decontamination unit showing this contraption.
