mysteriousoozlefinch Posted January 18, 2018 Share #1 Posted January 18, 2018 Photo says it was taken in Victoria, TX for "Defense Day" in February 1941. Men are from Battery E (Machine Gun), 197th Coast Artillery (Anti-Aircraft) Regiment, from Nashua, NH. Interesting to note the pre-war GMC trucks in the background and that the men with cartridge belts seem to be wearing mounted ones. Also, two of the men appear to be carrying M1917 revolvers in the center of the picture with them rigged for left-hand cross draw.
gomorgan Posted January 19, 2018 Share #2 Posted January 19, 2018 Gotta love them out wrought iron park benches also, must of been a cold day in Texas when this was taken.
