Data tags like the one posted can have a ( R ) or ( L ) to denote right or left side of aircraft followed by a part number or modification number. P-59A Posted January 19, 2018 Author Share #5 Posted January 19, 2018 After I was questioned about an engine data tag I posted I have to stand down on what aircraft this came from. Clearly the numbers "R-1830-92" refer to a double wasp engine. I know the wasp engine does not have this type tag mounted on it. It has the engine data plate and the Pratt Whitney logo mounted on the hub aft of the props. I know Baugher's list is as good as it gets re tail and BuNo's so I believe he is correct. If this tag was mounted on the firewall...I can see that...I am stuck with what do the 42-10964 relate too? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
P-59A Posted January 19, 2018 Author Share #6 Posted January 19, 2018 OK, I screwed up! This tag would have been mounted on the firewall and it states the type engine that goes in the mount. The number "42-10964" is the contract number for the engine, not the aircraft. My bad! I joined this site to learn things, I had no idea the things I would learn would be from my own mistakes.
