Simon Lerenfort Posted January 16, 2018 Share #1 Posted January 16, 2018 Hi, recently came across a 1910 T - handled shovel with a 1942 marked cover. It also has a laundry mark "P4951" - was hoping to ID the owner and hence his unit.
bellasilva Posted January 16, 2018 Share #2 Posted January 16, 2018 I pulled up 41 servicemen with that laundry number. Any other identifying factors?
Simon Lerenfort Posted January 16, 2018 Author Share #3 Posted January 16, 2018 I pulled up 41 servicemen with that laundry number. Any other identifying factors? Other than it was found in England sadly no. How many of the 41 are likely to have served in ETO?
bellasilva Posted January 16, 2018 Share #4 Posted January 16, 2018 The only way of finding out who served in the ETO would be meticulous research of all 41 men and hoping there's something out there that puts them in the ETO. But even then there would have to be some other identifying mark on the cover
Simon Lerenfort Posted January 16, 2018 Author Share #5 Posted January 16, 2018 Unfortunately there is only the laundry mark, no regiment number.
