Bill Scott Posted January 12, 2018 Share #1 Posted January 12, 2018 One of my friends picked up two of these one with one star above the Airforce Wing and this one with the four stars. The appear to be WW2 construction but what they are for escapes me.Scotty
vintageproductions Posted January 12, 2018 Share #2 Posted January 12, 2018 Scotty- aren't they some type of car pennant / General's flag?

ocsfollowme Posted January 12, 2018 Share #4 Posted January 12, 2018 That is my thought too. Inside a car or inside a building on a door. Lots of the vehicles would have the metal placards on the outside, but for OPSEC reasons I could see something like this on the inside, or if vehicles were used for multiple ranking individuals too. Either way, these are really cool and I could count myself lucky to find these! Thanks for showing.
Wyonative Posted January 12, 2018 Share #5 Posted January 12, 2018 Saw one of these once cut down to a pennant with a removable wire stiffener. But that is just my 2 cents.

tdurbinmas Posted January 14, 2018 Share #8 Posted January 14, 2018 The four star would be for the Commanding General of the USAAF (Hap Arnold) and the single star would be a brigadier general of the USAAF.
firefighter Posted January 14, 2018 Share #9 Posted January 14, 2018 The four star would be for the Commanding General of the USAAF (Hap Arnold) and the single star would be a brigadier general of the USAAF. There were othe 4 star generals in the AAF. Plus you have to realize the AF still used the winged star after 1947.
