River Patrol Posted February 19, 2007 Share #1 Posted February 19, 2007 Please show your HA(L)-3 patch variations here. Helicopter Attack Light Squadron 3 (aka HELATKLTRON-3 or HA(L)-3) or more commonly known as the Seawolves were a U.S. Navy Helicopter Gunship Squadron which, through daring gunship tactics, would later be known as the most decorated unit in the Vietnam War. Eventually having 9 detachments in Vietnam, most of their actions were in the Mekong Delta region (IV Corps Tactical Zone) supporting SEAL teams and PBR units. River Patrol Posted April 17, 2007 Author Share #2 Posted April 17, 2007 Am I the only one collecting HA(L)-3 patches?? HAL-3 had 9 Detachments in Vietnam. Not all had a special insignia made for their group, but some did, like Det. 5. Here's their patch. It is one of the more common detachment patches seen for HAL-3, and it came in a few different sizes. This is the small 2.25 inch patch.
