M24 Chaffee Posted January 7, 2018 Share #27 Posted January 7, 2018 Great garage find! The paint still looks detailed and crisp! Very cool to have the name. The uniform looks great also. Frank

unclegrumpy Posted January 7, 2018 Share #30 Posted January 7, 2018 Realizing this particular helmet is named to a Marine, I have a question regarding this paint & insignia combination...is it USMC only or can it be Army as well?

warguy Posted January 8, 2018 Share #32 Posted January 8, 2018 Realizing this particular helmet is named to a Marine, I have a question regarding this paint & insignia combination...is it USMC only or can it be Army as well? Army had many men in this unit as well,"Pershing's own", and had similarly painted helmets. Company E is where the Marines were assigned and this specific artist and style is attributed to them. Any other style I would say one couldn't attribute it specifically to the Marines without solid provenance.
unclegrumpy Posted January 8, 2018 Share #33 Posted January 8, 2018 That is what I was curious about...it makes this insignia paint combination even more interesting being specific to that unit. It will interesting to see someone someday post an Army version. I appreciate the clarification...thank you!
