katieony Posted January 3, 2018 Share #1 Posted January 3, 2018 Here is a medal that I've had for some time: a "1945 VICTORY LOAN HONOR AWARD" medal. I believe these were given out as an incentive to buy war bonds. The reverse reads, "PRESENTED BY YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD SAVINGS BANK FOR PATRIOTIC SERVICES RENDERED". The brooch has an open catch. firefighter Posted January 12, 2018 Share #6 Posted January 12, 2018 That is very cool. I too have never seen one before. I wonder if it was a generic medal that any bank could order since it just has “YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD SAVINGS BANK”? I don’t collect these but I like it. Great design on the front.
