McDermut99 Posted December 12, 2017 Share #1 Posted December 12, 2017 I'll be spending a couple days down in the Austin-New Braunfels areas and would like to know if there are suggestions as to any militaria shops or any places that would have some good militaria (WWII army and army air corps primarily). Any commentary is greatly appreciated! (Also, I'll be driving down from the Panhandle, so if there happens to be any good spots along the way I'd be interested in those as well.) FIGMO Posted December 12, 2017 Share #2 Posted December 12, 2017 There is a flea market just south of New Braunfels on IH 35 that I used to get a bunch of militaria from. I hope it's still there for you to check out. In Austin I used to go to a surplus store on Lamar St called Banana Bay (I think). Just a couple of potential options for you if they are still in business. It's been a few years since I've been down that way.

McDermut99 Posted December 12, 2017 Author Share #4 Posted December 12, 2017 Check out the Texas Military Forces Museum (Google it for Info) Lots of good things to see there. Bobgee I've heard a lot of great things about it, I'll definitely try to visit. (I should've added in the first post suggestions can also be landmarks, museums, etc.)
Airborne-Hunter Posted December 12, 2017 Share #5 Posted December 12, 2017 Banana Bay closed. The flea market is still there, Busey's on I-35. Its pretty good. Theres a shop in downtown Austin thats mostly new stuff. Some old. Good stuff is hit or miss. Theres another flea market in Austin, but I never found anything. Some antique shops on S. Congress, but I only found one sterling armor DI there one time. Best ABN
