maxx Posted November 9, 2008 Share #1 Posted November 9, 2008 I have a fairly decent example of an early M1 but there is paint loss and light rust on the inside. If I rub my hand on it, nothing transfers off. I was wondering would there be any harm if I applied a light coat of something like CLP or Tri-flow or similar to the affected area then wipe it dry with a cloth? The "A" washers are uncoated but I would like to put a light coat on them as well as there is a little powder corrosion on them. I would not want to stain the webbing, just the washers. Any foreseeable harm with that?
