1563621 Posted December 1, 2017 #1 Posted December 1, 2017 Looking for any help on my fathers service, Sgt Richard J. Archibald. Served in the aleutions.
stratasfan Posted December 2, 2017 #2 Posted December 2, 2017 Have you tried doing a Next-Of-Kin request from St. Louis? It is really worth it! My Gramma did it for me for my late Grampa, and we got all his service records, his medical records and even replacement medals. It was really cool! Two envelopes of records. Now, he was career USCG, but I helped a friend get her Dad's WWII records, and she got everything about his service, too. If you want to try, I have basic FOIA letters and the form that I can send you, and all you'd have to do is fill them out. I'd really encourage you! If you can post his dates and what branch of service, I can take a look at some online resources and see if I can come up with anything in the meantime!
1563621 Posted December 2, 2017 Author #3 Posted December 2, 2017 Did the request a few years ago, all records were lost in the fire. Sgt. Army. I will have to look for dates. He passed in 1995.
