Darktide Posted November 23, 2017 Share #1 Posted November 23, 2017 Just a question regarding the M43 field cap. Were these used in WW2? Some people say that they weren't, that they were first used in Korea. Doesn't the lead character in "Fury" wear a M43 field cap? Is this correct? Are there any pics of the M43 field cap in use during WW2?
Darktide Posted November 23, 2017 Author Share #2 Posted November 23, 2017 This M43, not the one with the pile liner.
doyler Posted November 23, 2017 Share #3 Posted November 23, 2017 Stantons book and Lewis Doughboy to Gl show them. Being part of the M43 jacket and trouser uniform they were issued out.Tested and approved as current uniform and to replace/standardize much of the specialized clothing(paratroop, mountain etc).Same as the M43 boots. I think the jeep cap was still well liked and used and was in the system due to quantity and gradually replaced

Darktide Posted November 23, 2017 Author Share #6 Posted November 23, 2017 Yes, I tried as well and it's the German M43 that pops up.
