David B Posted November 20, 2017 Share #1 Posted November 20, 2017 Hi guys, Are these Capt rank bars considered to be of WWI vintage? Also does anyone have an idea of the manufacturer? They are marked twice on the back with Sterling and W & Co, they also have the same markings on the pin. The smaller bar is stamped sterling on both upper and lower cross bars. Cheers Dave

hirsca Posted November 20, 2017 Share #5 Posted November 20, 2017 I believe that they were made by the Wendell Mfg. Co., Chicago, IL. Logo is Wendell & Co. Very nice insignia. Al

KurtA Posted November 20, 2017 Share #7 Posted November 20, 2017 I should add they are WW1 vintage. Really nice insignia. That fancy lever catch is what you want to see on their insignia especially when it comes to evaluating their heavily fakes WW1 wings.
