Civil War Spurs?

 Share

Recommended Posts

I acquired these a few years back. I don't know if they are civil war period or not so I anybody can ID these then I'd appreciate that. I don't know what the prong in the middle is for. I know that most spurs were tied around the back of the boot.

The prong was meant to be driven into the heel of the boot, to be in there permanently. This type of spur has no boot straps. As for the time period I cant say....I've seen a lot of spurs here in Texas but don't collect them. My knowledge is little.

Gotcha. I figured it was something like that but wasn't sure. Thanks though. Every little bit of information is important!
