I've seen an air commando patch that has a similar design. Does anyone know this unit?

Thx

Sure looks like a USAF Air Commando patch to me for the T-28 pilots and crews. These aircraft were used in Viet-Nam from the Fall of 1961 until sometime in 1964 when they were replaced by A-1 Skyraiders. Another possibity for this patch is the Water Pump Detachment at Udorn RTAFB. Water Pump trained T-28 pilots and ground crews from Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia from 1964 to late 1974. The 56th ACW/SOW also had some T-28s at Nakhon Phanom RTAFB in the late 1960's under the 606th ACS/SOS. I hope this information is helpful to you. Very nice patch!

According to USAFpatches.com it is:

Thanks Bob. Would this be considered a pre 1966 unit patch? Bc of the T-28s.

1st SOS (ACS at the time) flew T-28’s from 63-64. Nice early patch
