Yes indeed, i remember this one, very interesting and with a wealth of detailed information by World War I Nerd and USAFnav, and the additions in the end by member dpt10nl, and other members with their input like Allan H etc. Plus my very minor contribution

 

The boundless enthusiasm by RCraig the OP, was also a major contributing factor of the topic, making it all the more.

This is great for the USMF! it's great when collectors get good shootouts from news sources as many might see collectors as people looking to exploit historical artifacts to make money.

Yes indeed, something to bear in mind, that USMF is way more then a site for collectors as we all know by now. Like this whole thing as an example, a place for research of individual's histories and events during that individuals time in. Also seen are tributes to veterans and battles, discussions on notables from U.S. military history or just your Uncle George and your Father Harry who were in the military, and whole lot more.
