Unknown Engineer Topographical Unit Crest on Cardboard

I found this piece on a sheet of misc. post war engineer crests (all had their backs removed) and assume from that and the design that it must be engineer top. I went through Capistrano's book and couldn't find it. I can't make out the motto either. Even weirder, the piece is painted on a multi-layered cardboard. Similar in construction to plywood. Has anyone ever seen any pieces constructed like this? And does anyone recognize it or have a clue as to the unit? Thanks ABN

Interesting piece 1950s, I suspect it was once applied to some kind of presentation plaque, German made perhaps,The unit was in Germany back then.

 

This unit's crest no doubt was an unauthorized DI from the 1950s, as companies are non color bearing units, it was locally approved of course, because there were metal versions of superior make.

 

And we see here a Poellath made one, Poellath being a German maker.
