GeneralCheese Posted November 5, 2017 #1 Posted November 5, 2017 Here is something very interesting I picked up recently. It is an SMi-35 antipersonnel landmine, captured with "June 6 1944" and "Normandy Beach" painted on the top. The green color of the mine was used in Western Europe, whereas the tan painted version was used more in the east. Thanks for looking
GeneralCheese Posted November 5, 2017 Author #5 Posted November 5, 2017 Three bullets were welded to the bottom to act as feet
Morlok Posted November 5, 2017 #6 Posted November 5, 2017 Now THAT is a beauty! Any background on it? Someone brought home a cool souvenir!!
GeneralCheese Posted November 5, 2017 Author #7 Posted November 5, 2017 Now THAT is a beauty! Any background on it? Someone brought home a cool souvenir!! Unfortunately I have no other information, but I will ask the seller. I can only assume whoever brought it back had a special affinity for ordnance, and was probably not on the front line as this thing is hefty - almost 10 pounds.
tdogchristy90 Posted November 5, 2017 #9 Posted November 5, 2017 That is absolutely AWESOME. I love unique stuff.

sundance Posted November 6, 2017 #12 Posted November 6, 2017 That is really nice. How can you tell it's inert?
GeneralCheese Posted November 6, 2017 Author #13 Posted November 6, 2017 That is really nice. How can you tell it's inert? The detonators and TNT were all removed. I opened it up and found 4 of the shrapnel pieces left. 2 ball bearings and 2 scrap wire bits. Nasty.
M24 Chaffee Posted November 6, 2017 #16 Posted November 6, 2017 Excellent and terrifying souvenir for your collection! Frank
