Japanese Type 26 revolver with nice surprise

Recommended Posts

I recently purchased this Type 26 revolver with this odd homemade looking shoulder holster along with a Japanese bayonet. I had it for a few weeks and noticed a wad of paper in the bottom. I thought, wouldnt it be cool if that is its capture papers? Low and behold, its exactly what it was, even two copies.

The family said he got it on Peleliu. He is a view of his dog tag.

William John Lundry, coxswain. I cant find much on him on ancestry.com except birth and death date.

Born 18 May 1925.

What can anyone tell by the capture papers? Any comment on the holster? Looks like part of a .45 holster.
