jeffs1130 Posted October 29, 2017 Share #1 Posted October 29, 2017 US Army Field Ration "D" - Chocolate Bar I think it's from WWII... Made by Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company - Chicago, Ill. Found it today at the flea market! Was $10, that's expensive chocolate! Just in time for Halloween! I wonder how 72 year old chocolate taste! lol

kammo-man Posted October 29, 2017 Share #5 Posted October 29, 2017 Believe it or not go to You tube and type in anything relating to Vintage Military rations being eaten. You just might see similar items being eaten. Beware its a VORTEX so only allot yourself 6 hours watching in a single period. owen

kammo-man Posted October 29, 2017 Share #8 Posted October 29, 2017 Don't confuse with mini food being made and eaten My wife had to take my lap top from me one day as I had this Chanel on all all weekend. It's endless nonsense Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
jeffs1130 Posted October 31, 2017 Author Share #9 Posted October 31, 2017 I didn't realize how expensive these are!! Exact same one sold for $122 on the Bay! I can still smell the chocolate inside!! Here I thought $10 was a lot for an old piece of chocolate!

Garandomatic Posted November 1, 2017 Share #11 Posted November 1, 2017 Not military issue, but a friend collects whiskey. We had a tasting of 1939-42 bottles the other weekend. Mine smelled like wet musty wood. Had a taste last weekend and the flavor had come back to life. Really wild to know what prewar tastes like.
