This is on a USN WW II era grey cap. No Vet history. This hat was just donated to a museum Im associated with. Thanks for looking, comments welcome.

From an article in the Nov 1950 issue of All Hands magazine, there is a description of the USN civilian technician uniforms. If that insignia is 5/8' wide and 3/4" high it would be the device for the overseas cap and the collar devices for wear on the khaki shirt..

Thanks for the info. That is the size. I was told there was a larger one for the billed cap also. Here is a shot of the back. No maker marks.

The combination cap insignia was same design but 1 1/2" wide by 1 7/8" high. Cap had a black strap and plain gilt buttons
