Picked up a very nice 16 inch SA bayonet today. It is dated 1907 with nice wood handles and very nice green plastic sheath .

I assume the blade, originally left "bright" has been parkerized? If so I'd call you bayonet a typical WW2 reissue. I once picked up an "SA 1919" in the green plastic M3 scabbard still covered in cosmoline configured for use in WW2.

If still in original bright blade configuration you really do need to get a proper scabbard for it. Either the all leather Model of 1905 or canvas and leather Model of 1910. During WW2....which is when the plastic M3 scabbard was used....very few, if any, bayonets retained the original bright blades.
