Dogsbody Posted October 28, 2017 Share #1 Posted October 28, 2017 Hello everyone, My first post in this section is a 320th IR guidon. Since they took part in the liberation of my hometown I couldn't let it pass me by. It has the QM tag but unfortunately no date. Any comments are welcome. nirvana Posted October 28, 2017 Share #2 Posted October 28, 2017 Looks like a wartime guidon, wool, one sided, with just the regiment and company on it. Some moth damage, but nothing bad, and it doesn't show much wear from being flown, which is good. I'm guessing that the inside of the pole sleeve is green, and that the 320 and K are soft cotton fabric. The pole tabs are leather. I like it. Nice flag, and nice find. As always, if you wish to sell it, drop me a line.

12thengr Posted October 29, 2017 Share #4 Posted October 29, 2017 NIce flag, post-war guidons at some point had the battalion no. on the pole side of the emblem. For reasons that only patches could explain.
nirvana Posted October 29, 2017 Share #5 Posted October 29, 2017 Right, battalion stuff seems to be 1950s-1960s. I have a few, all infantry.
nirvana Posted October 29, 2017 Share #6 Posted October 29, 2017 Not trying to step on toes. This is the battalion type. It's a WW2 era flag, I believe, but was used postwar.
