Larry F. Posted October 28, 2017 #1 Posted October 28, 2017 This ammo box was located in Georgia a few years ago. Imagine the surprise when opened. As an added bonus, the grouping came with complete vet provenance.
USCapturephotos Posted October 28, 2017 #3 Posted October 28, 2017 AHHHH. Wow. Wow. Love this so much. Thanks for sharing. I found a German medics crate a few years ago used by a GI from the 116th Evac. Hospital as his ship home box....sadly mine was empty. I still love the crate though. Paul
David D Posted October 28, 2017 #4 Posted October 28, 2017 Holy s*** that is incredible! My heart would've skipped a beat if I opened that to find those treasures.
sgtdorango Posted October 28, 2017 #6 Posted October 28, 2017 Nice!!!!!....did it have the capture papers too?!....mike
Larry F. Posted October 28, 2017 Author #7 Posted October 28, 2017 Nice!!!!!....did it have the capture papers too?!....mike Sadly there were no capture papers. Having them would have been the icing on the cake. Based on the research performed and the vet’s memoirs, it was determined these items were captured in the Metz, France area.

Larry F. Posted November 1, 2017 Author #19 Posted November 1, 2017 These are the only two I can find. I remember the contents being: Canteen, small stove, assault pack, helmet, cap, a few pins/badges, photo album, misc. GI issued items.
USCapturephotos Posted November 1, 2017 #21 Posted November 1, 2017 WOW! I especially love that M43 cap. Looks like you can see some actual use and wear although its in excellent condition. Paul
