cabbell2006 Posted November 5, 2008 Share #1 Posted November 5, 2008 Here is a interesting wing i found today. Its a Air force Navigators wing stamped sterling with a pin on the reverse. The closest i can figure is these are very early Air force wings. Thanks all

John Cooper Posted November 6, 2008 Share #3 Posted November 6, 2008 I think it is safe to say post Sept 18th 1947 I think the USAF started changing uniforms and insignia in 1948 onward. John
Lee Ragan Posted November 6, 2008 Share #4 Posted November 6, 2008 That design for Navigator/Observer didn't appear till around 1950. You could still get pin back wings (new), up until the early 1960's (or so I've been told). Clutch back badges didn't replace the pin back style overnight. I have a pair just like the ones shown.
