cmt04444 Posted October 23, 2017 Share #1 Posted October 23, 2017 Can anyone tell me what era these are from? Any value in them at all or are they just cheap practice grenades?
268th C.A. Posted October 23, 2017 Share #2 Posted October 23, 2017 The repainted one is a training grenade with the hole in the bottom, The unpaited one looks like a real body with smoke grenade fuse. With the correct fuse you could have a winner. Casting numbers on the side will date them. Some one will chime in with a number here and date it for you....Good luck grenades are doing well in the collector world.
cmt04444 Posted October 23, 2017 Author Share #3 Posted October 23, 2017 I don't see any numbers on the unpainted one. If the training or other Grenade is WWII I would be thrilled.
vonmoen Posted October 24, 2017 Share #4 Posted October 24, 2017 The one with the M228 fuze assembly is a reproduction, and I'm pretty sure the RFX is one also. WW2 MKII grenades take fuzes with a 9/16 thread, and the M228 is 5/8.
