Airborne-Hunter Posted October 22, 2017 #1 Posted October 22, 2017 This came out of an estate sale yesterday. I haven't been able to get the name of the soldier yet, but I know he was in the 7th Army Intelligence Corps. It came with approximately 100 photos, all with writing on the back and many with names that match the helmet. There is one photo, albeit blurry, that even shows the helmet. As the back of this photo describes, one man painted all the names, but they are all his fellow soldiers. Best ABN
Airborne-Hunter Posted October 22, 2017 Author #9 Posted October 22, 2017 Lastly, a photo of the man who brought it back. Unfortunately a name is at the moment, illusive. Best ABN
1canpara Posted October 22, 2017 #11 Posted October 22, 2017 That is very cool! I love how he configured the names on the top into a swastika....clever! Great helmet! Rick
Brian Keith Posted October 22, 2017 #12 Posted October 22, 2017 Excellent souvenir! Even an wartime photo! WOW! Thanks for posting it. I hope you can pin down the Vet's name. BKW
M24 Chaffee Posted October 22, 2017 #13 Posted October 22, 2017 That's just an excellent helmet to have in a WWII collection! Frank
USCapturephotos Posted October 22, 2017 #16 Posted October 22, 2017 So so interesting. I can't say how much I love the period photo to go with the piece! Paul
doyler Posted October 23, 2017 #19 Posted October 23, 2017 Great helmet. Like the way he painted the names on the top in a Swaz. All the photos are a real bonus.
