P-59A Posted January 23, 2018 Share #30 Posted January 23, 2018 One of my favorites..... The F-86 is one of my favorite top 10 aircraft. I helped on a static restoration years ago and have been to several crash sites and never found a data tag.

Swifter Posted January 24, 2018 Share #33 Posted January 24, 2018 Cool data tag. It has a very "Art Deco" look to it. Douglas aircraft of the period (mainly C-47s) had the same situation with their data tags. They were made of a thin ply of phenolic material. P-59A Posted January 28, 2018 Share #34 Posted January 28, 2018 This from the from the tail impact of TF-100C #54-1966. The crash date was 04-09-57. The data tag indicates this was a "D". In fact the TF-100C was testing what would become the "D" tail when the tail failed at 40,000 feet. The main impact was found a year later and 10 miles from were the tail landed. Daytonian777 Posted April 27, 2020 Share #35 Posted April 27, 2020 I know this is kind of an old thread, but I'd like to add my data plate for a General Electric Turbojet engine. These plates would have been used on the J79 (F-4A, B-58, etc.) and If I'm not mistaken, the J85 as well. This one was never stamped with the model or any other data.
