Reaper Posted October 9, 2017 Share #1 Posted October 9, 2017 Besides someone just needing one of these badly, can anyone tell me why this specific enamel cup went for twice the usual going rate? I see nothing unusual about it. What am I missing? http://www.ebay.com/itm/WW2-US-ENAMELED-COATED-CANTEEN-CUP-RARE-USMC-MARINE-CORPS-PORCELAIN-1942-BOTTLE-/372090049944?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&nma=true&si=rYgREoSKMIU%252BVg0kxPWCVB1%252F2ZY%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

Username Posted October 25, 2017 Share #7 Posted October 25, 2017 Absurd price. I can't believe people will pay so much more for the blue-ish enamel. I wonder if the buyer even paid...
oldabewla Posted October 26, 2017 Share #8 Posted October 26, 2017 I wonder what a mint unissued cup with no chips would be worth? I have one!

Looks like they left feedback Small pi$$ing match between 2 buyers, with two big bidders coming in at the end. What's the average going rate for these cups? MasonK Posted November 3, 2017 Share #14 Posted November 3, 2017 Actually seen a couple decent ones sell recently for $150 each. The one seller at a show was asking $185 and he came down Looked at some eBay comps, and saw the black cups selling in the $200 range, and the blue in the $150 range. Purchased a full canteen set (cover, canteen, cup) with black enamel canteen a couple years ago. Have always wanted the enamel cup to go with it, but don't know if I can justify spending $200, let alone $500.
