P-51 Mustang Pilot ACE dog tag w/ photo and air medal

Recommended Posts

I got this recently and thought I’d share to some tag collectors. Very humbled to have this small group.

Veteran served as a P-51 Mustang Pilot with the 486th Fighter Squadron. He is credited with 5 aerial victories over Europe.

I understand the tag was a bit sloppily done with an odd format among other things. But it doesn’t matter to me as it was still his tag. I’m just guessing it was a pretty late war tag.

Very nice.

Looks like he flew P-51D 44-13929 squadron code PZ-O , named 'Lil Marjie'.

Didn't see anything with a quick search online, maybe one of the Blue Noser history books would have a picture. Good luck!

Interested in all items relating to the 7th AAF, especially those of the VLR P-51 Pilots of the 15th, 21st, and 506th Fighter Groups.

Thanks all. Will be interesting to find out more about him, being an ace. Anyone know where to find the dates he got the victories?

Very nice little grouping. Congrats.

Any idea what the letters "B A" stand for?

Always looking for 29th & 36th infantry divisions items (uniforms, medals, groupings, papers, maps, books...)

Blood Type A. This is what leads me to believe it is a late War/early post war tag, but no way of knowing for sure.
