USdog Posted October 2, 2017 Share #1 Posted October 2, 2017 I got this recently and thought I’d share to some tag collectors. Very humbled to have this small group. Veteran served as a P-51 Mustang Pilot with the 486th Fighter Squadron. He is credited with 5 aerial victories over Europe. I understand the tag was a bit sloppily done with an odd format among other things. But it doesn’t matter to me as it was still his tag. I’m just guessing it was a pretty late war tag. cperkins510 Posted October 3, 2017 Share #2 Posted October 3, 2017 Another gem, Connor! You've got a real nose for the best. As for the odd format, I think it gives it some unique flavor ? Is the pilot the man to viewer's left of the photo?

cperkins510 Posted October 3, 2017 Share #5 Posted October 3, 2017 That is a perfect photo! Man, he really looks the part, doesn't he? Crusher cap, white scarf, and worm A-2. Absolutely fantastic
USdog Posted October 3, 2017 Author Share #6 Posted October 3, 2017 He really does look to part. Now to find a photo of his mustang!
Waltz41 Posted October 5, 2017 Share #7 Posted October 5, 2017 Very nice. Looks like he flew P-51D 44-13929 squadron code PZ-O , named 'Lil Marjie'. Didn't see anything with a quick search online, maybe one of the Blue Noser history books would have a picture. Good luck!

USdog Posted October 6, 2017 Author Share #10 Posted October 6, 2017 Thanks all. Will be interesting to find out more about him, being an ace. Anyone know where to find the dates he got the victories?
Squad leader Posted October 7, 2017 Share #11 Posted October 7, 2017 I understand the tag was a bit sloppily done with an odd format among other things. [...] Very nice little grouping. Congrats. Any idea what the letters "B A" stand for?
twining540 Posted October 7, 2017 Share #12 Posted October 7, 2017 Excellent tag! I like the different stamping. It adds a little something extra.
USdog Posted October 7, 2017 Author Share #13 Posted October 7, 2017 Very nice little grouping. Congrats. Any idea what the letters "B A" stand for? Blood Type A. This is what leads me to believe it is a late War/early post war tag, but no way of knowing for sure.
