Hope no one falls victim to the temptation. A potential buyer should ask themselves why would a genuine Case V42 be offered at such a low price? Then invest sometime studying the subject. Mixed bag, when it comes to asking who's responsible. I'm reminded of something written on this forum in the past, "If you can't tell the difference between the real thing and a copy, you shouldn't care what you paid for it.".

In any case, Caveat Emptor.

Looks like this knife got bought again, this time for just under $1000. I got to believe someone jumped on this because they convinced themselves that it is the real deal, or believe they have someone in mind that will pay more than they did after they hear whatever story the person attaches to it. Otherwise why not just spend less than half that amount for the current V42 from Case being offered? It's much better in quality than this piece.
