KommandoPost Posted September 11, 2017 Share #1 Posted September 11, 2017 I found this at a local swap meet last week: Does anyone know what the badge on the upper right pocket (as the picture shows) under the name tape is supposed to approximate? It looks like a police badge to me. Better yet, anyone have any idea for where this could have been patched up?
gwb123 Posted September 11, 2017 Share #2 Posted September 11, 2017 This is post-Vietnam. During Vietnam, the USAF used black thread for their subdued patches. They changed to blue after the war. I am not sure which patch you are asking about. One is for Pacific Air Forces, the other is representing a Security Police Badge. You will note that these were made from cloth from a lime green ERDL garment. The most likely places that this was made would be either the Philippines (Clark AFB) or Korea in the early 1970's. Although not from Vietnam, this is a very neat piece, and from a very specific historical time frame.
easterneagle87 Posted September 11, 2017 Share #3 Posted September 11, 2017 I too noticed the patches made from green ERDL fabric. Indeed, post Vietnam, but still a cool jacket.
