I got this real cheap at the flea market and it looks like a US military Kevlar helmet but it feels a little lighter. The thickness appear to be the same but the lining is different. I couldn't find any markings inside the helmet. It has removal pieces of padding that are held in place by Velcro. Is this a real military helmet or maybe some kind of air soft gear?

I'd buy it. Secondly it looks heavily used and dusty. Probably US used, maybe bought privately. It reminds me of the TBH or TBH II helmet, but there are a few differences. The service member could have bought this for use if they couldn't get a hold of an ACH or didn't like the PASGT. Nice pick up :)

Thanks so it is a legitimate US military helmet and not something made for the paintball and air soft groups.

Honestly, I think it's a plastic replica helmet. I've seen ones that look like it at an army navy store in CA. Pretty sure it's not ballistic protection IMHO.

If you pull the pads out, you may be able to find a data sticker on it. That would certainly tell us more.

I believe it's a plastic play helmet. We cheated & had some that best that I can remember looked like this to work ranges & save our necks from the weight. We just had ACU covers on them with reflective helmet bands & range instead of our issue ACHs. I'm certain I still have it somewhere at home to compare if ya like.

Did some research on this after i posted, and it looks like it might be an Armorsource lid. I can't find pics of the interior of the helmet to confirm their strap system though. We can help dispel it being real/fake fairly quickly, weigh it. IF its somewhere around 3-4 pounds, should be legit kevlar. If its 1-2, it's likely plastic.

I have zero doubt about it being kevlar and used by a service member or possibly a contractor. The Velcro on it, wear, dust, and grime all point to it being legit.

From the available photos I would strongly suspect this being a replica/Airsoft imitation of a MICH helmet. Just my opinion

I have no way of weighing the helmet but it feels more like 2 pounds instead of 3 to 4 pounds. I pulled out all of the padding and found no decals or markings of any kind inside of the helmet. I had a feeling this was some sort of copy for the paintball and/or air soft crowd. Many thanks for everyone's input on this helmet.

If you don't mind me asking, 2 things. How much are you in to it, and what are your plans for it?
