Sub patrol badge what style is this called

Local jewlwry store is going out of business. The have a sub patrol badge that is this style. What is the style called?

 

On a further note:

The badge is hollow backed with three stars. It is marked "sterling". The pin has been removed and has been turned intom a fancy tie bar thing. A backing wire thing, with the sub badge suspended with chains on either side. Sorry no pictures. Price tag is $125, but they are going out of business and trhe store is marked 50% off. Still pricy I think.

hilborne hambuger type 1, sometimes knowm as deep wave. Cant tell anything about authenticity without a back shot.

That specific type eludes me. Been looking for one to complete a uniform of mine, but it's hard to spend the money. If it's legit and 50% off of $125, that'd be a jealously good deal!
