Type 56 triangular bayonet (Vietnam War era)

Can anyone tell me more about the Type 56 triangular bayonet? This is an example found in the Ia Drang Valley in 1965, either from a Type 56 rifle or an SKS (and is missing the attachment part). Thanks!

Sorry. We do limit our discussions to items used by the US military. That can include foreign items, but only if they were used by US troops.

 

We do have a section for items that were confirmed as brought back by US soldiers, but we have some qualifications regarding those.

 

For foreign material, we generally recommend the Wehrmacht Awards Forum. Despite the name, they cover the militaria of many nations, including the combatants of the Vietnam War.
