This one is my favorite! I've shown it before, but after having seen some of the forum's members displays, I wanted to put some appropriate backing cloth to make it look better. What do you guys think?

These were for PFC Edward R. Turner, from Campbell's Creek, West Virginia. NPRC told me the following:

"served with 15th Machine Gun Battalion during WWI in France, served from April 24, 1918 until June 30, 1919. He was gassed on the evening of the 17th of October and on the 18th of October, 1918 in the Argonne Forest, and was sent to the hospital (#27 at Angers, hospital train #54 on the 20th of October 1918).

Here's another look at Turner's PH. Gotta love that engraving! It is numbered, but I'm lazy, so I didn't pull it out to get the number for this post.

This is another one I re-did the backing on because I was inspired by some of your displays y'all posted. I also added his 40th ID patch I though I had lost when I moved awhile back. Sadly, NPRC can provide basically no info on SFC John J. Black, and they gave me some conflicting info, too. Example: they say he was only a corporal, but I have his SFC stripes, and his Korean War era nametag with his rank on it. Oh, well.

One of the sets of dog tags seems to have belonged to his "significant other," which I thought was pretty cool!

I need some help with this one. I bought it, thinking it was a "Widow's Cross." But the more I think about it, the more doubtful I become. Your thoughts? I'll post some more pics to give you a better look (hopefully they are better)

The brooch looks darker in person, but it's not completely dark as I had imagined an oxidized one should be.

just got this in the mail today. I bought a WWII Vic in the box super cheap, and the seller threw in a couple extra ribbons. I have not seen this type of OLC before and wondered if anyone might be able to offer up a clue as to where it could have been made?

maybe this pic is a little better. The top ribbon appears to be an RVN Gallantry Cross, and looks as if it actually had a frame at some point. Thoughts?

Here's a grouping I found at a flea market in Charleston back when I was a cadet at that bastion of leadership and knowledge, The Citadel. Sadly, it is unnamed :(

That is a beautiful custom valor rack...!

Korean War vet's ArCom certificate. I've sent in to the NPRC four different times in two years, and never received any response. I know they can take awhile to get back, but this has become rediculous. Anyone provide info on this soldier? Next post is close up.

This is my most favorite PH, ever! Got this last year at the Raleigh Militaria show from the guy at Tarbridge (I'm sorry, I cannot recall the dealers' name, but he always has the most incredible stuff!). Anyway, This sailor was killed in the Kamikaze attack on the USS Cabot. The patch is a repro. NPRC sent me the most incredible (and thick!) file on this sailor, with a picture of him, too! Just haven't figured out a good way to display this one.

Here's a small group of random POW stuff. I have a soft spot in my heart for our POW's. I guess it stems from my feeling like a POW myself, having been in military school since the 7th grade straight thru college.

North Korean propaganda! Neat little booklet about how well our captured soldiers were treated by those beasts. Inside was a slip of paper telling the owner they could obtain more at an address in Czechoslovakia, of all places.
