Phfly1010 Posted August 14, 2017 Share #1 Posted August 14, 2017 Did all GAR medals (star type with US flag ribbon and eagle at top) come with a maker's name of reverse of eagle part, and the letters/numbers on one edge to help ID year of make? Don't want to get fooled when buying one.
SARGE Posted August 15, 2017 Share #2 Posted August 15, 2017 They could have such markings but not always. The number on the edge is preceded by a letter that designates the name of the National Commander at the time the badge was made so that helps date it. However, the number is not really re-searchable as to who the badge belonged to. I hope this is helpful.
