After WW2 was over the buildings at Camp Adair, Oregon, were torn down and the materials sold to the locals. I grew up in a small house that was built out of such materials. Well, Dad is now selling the house and I went up into the attic and found 16 of these original windows. They all have OD paint under the civilian white paint job.

Really great they were saved. Pretty cool to find them still there. Can you take some close-ups to show how they were made?

Thanks, that would be great.

Were any of the doors in the house from those salvaged materials too?

Yes. All of the bedroom doors had numbers on them. Like a "2" on the master bedroom door. Many paint jobs over the years obscured them but get the light right and they could be seen.

Also the steel oil tank that fueled the oil stove when I was young was a shipping barrel for USAAF cluster bombs. I still have that, too. Nice markings on the ends.
