12A54 Posted August 6, 2017 Share #2 Posted August 6, 2017 His service was actually in Friedberg at Ray Barracks. He lived in the nearby town of Bad Nauheim. Both towns have competing Elvis festivals and claim close association with him. Generally, Friedberg has the greater claim. I served in his former battalion there and we would periodically have news crews show up looking to do pieces about him. There was no real trace of him in the unit except at the barber shop where there was a display case with clippers they used to cut his hair.
