GUDMAR1975 Posted July 29, 2017 Share #1 Posted July 29, 2017 There's an extensive display of military patches in an unlikely location. It is neither a museum, battlefield nor momument, but a travel plaza at the Beezewood Exit off the Pennsylvania Turnpike. A plaque in the hallway tells the story. (Pardon my poor photo). There are some errors in spelling and historiography, but they don't detract from enjoying the display. If you are interested in militaria and are near Breezewood, it is well worth the stop. KurtA Posted July 29, 2017 Share #2 Posted July 29, 2017 That's pretty cool. Next time I'm traveling the PA Turnpike in the middle of nowhere, I'll check it out. Thanks for posting.
WarrantMafia Posted July 29, 2017 Share #3 Posted July 29, 2017 That is really nice - and a really special tribute to Veterans and the owners of this Inn. Always seeking WW2 2d, 8th, 9th infantry and 3rd Armor Division medal groupings and patches. Also interested in Army Warrant Officer Aviator groupings.
Blacksmith Posted July 29, 2017 Share #4 Posted July 29, 2017 The exit is actually "Breezewood". These are right outside the bathroom.

hwright Posted July 31, 2017 Share #7 Posted July 31, 2017 Yes, it's indoors just like the person above said. In a hallway leading to the restrooms. Been there many times on my way to the MAX & the Baltimore show.
Teamski Posted August 1, 2017 Share #8 Posted August 1, 2017 Yeah, that collection has been posted before several times on the forum over the years. I have been there twice traveling through. A very nice collection indeed! It is great to see it still around although I worry about the long term effects of the lighting on the patches. -Ski In Memory Of......Pte Harold Griffiths, 1805, 1/6th Manchester Regt, KIA June 4th, 1915 in GallipoliCpl Isaac Judges, 40494, 6th East Yorkshire Regt, KIA October 3rd, 1917 in YpresMay they rest in peace.....
