Allan H. Posted July 23, 2017 Share #4 Posted July 23, 2017 Your major is wearing the Distinctive Unit Insignia of the 16th Infantry Regiment (RANGERS!) of the 1st Infantry Division. The 16th Infantry wears the fourragere of the Medalle Militaire for having been awarded the French Croix de Guerre no less than four times- twice in World War I and twice in WWII. The 18th Infantry Regiment has also earned the fourragere to the Medalle Militaire for their service in World War I and World War II as a regiment in the 1st Infantry Division.
