I don't know the exact identity of this but the Jayhawk was associated with the 16 Avn Bn and 67th Av Co. They were assets of 7th Corps. This is a 24th ID Div Arty not previously posted and the other one is 937th FA Air Section. Both are Japanese made, fully embr. Okay, let's fall back a minute. IH There are many variations of this well worn piece. Korean made. IH This unit was testing armed helicopter weapons circa 60-61. Their lessons learned went to Vietnam with the UTTCO. I took good pictures with my phone but cannot edit, 90% of the patches are named, NO repros in these patches I pictured. I will try to post the requests. Thank you guys. The tempest patch is the 4th LAS 9th Corp I pictured it beside th 5th LAS Jade AIR, both very rare I would say, both wool with bullion elements. Included are a couple neat DIs Army Avn. related.....Most patches are self explaining. The Okinawa patch that Chris also posted were known as the "Flying Wishbones". Jeff Williams 4th and 5th LAS,Jeff Some more requests from the original posts. Jeff Some neat DIs. Jeff Flying Wishbones plus a few more requested. On the cuff of his jacket he has an insignia very similar in design and construction minus the winged dice. On his collar there is a Signal Corps branch disc and I've always assumed that the cuff insignia was communication related. Since the similarities in both your patch and my coats cuff patch it might be possible that your winged diced insignia is a Hawaiian Department Flight Section rather than a 25th piece which would be extraordinary. Aloha, John I think that the dice, one die having 2 dots, and the other die having 5 dots, along with the red and yellow colors, and lightning bolt, nails it that this is a 25th ID Div Arty Air unit... Your 63rd AAA Group is the best condition one I've ever seen. Here's a different one, the Air section for the 517th Armored Field Artillery. They supported the 14th ACR. I love seeing patches from area of collecting. Here's another unusual one that I think is for the 38th RCT based on it's size. The crow may be a call sign reference like "King Bird". There are several other RCT Air Section patches: 5th Cav RCT, 187th ARCT to mention two of the top of my head, so it isn't out of the realm of possibility.
