Called many things they were frequently Transportation Companies with identifiers such as helicopter company, light helicopter company, medium and heavy companies and simply Aviation Company. So, what is the yellow patch, bulldog with 36 above the rotor? This is often confused by people for a Marine helicopter patch. I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd like to see some close-ups, especially of the Korean War patches. Here's a few of mine. The first one is for the 103rd Division from the 1950's The second is the 71st Aviation Co. It was stationed in Panama from Oct 62 to Oct 66 and supported the 193rd Light Infantry Brigade. I'd like to see the 24th piece with what looks like a duck superimposed over the taro leaf. Bill, your 103rd Division is really a neat and definitely uncommon piece. Here's one from the 103rd during the interwar years. Authorized October 14, 1922. A little under 13 years it was rescinded on June 18, 1935. These two are Div Arty Air Section (no, I did not win the first one, already had it). These two are from the thr 40th Avn Co, the first such company in the Army. Both date from c. 1953-54. This might be a 7th Corps Aviation Section or the 67th Aviation Company which was a subordinate unit of the 16th Aviation Battalion.
