AAC Pinwheel

The patch dates to a usage of 20 July 1937 - 19 March 1942. The latest I had seen them used "officially" was in an Army Air Forces recruitment film starring Jimmy Stewart...I believe the film was dated 1942. I have three uniforms with a pinwheel on it. One is a lifetime pilot's M1926 that dates to around 1937. Another is an aviation specialist that dates to 1938. The final is a Model 1940 four pocket enlisted coat.

Hope this helps,

Ken

I just picked this jacket up on eBay and am quite pleased with it. By the fact it is cotton and the insignia, I am putting it as from the 30's. Comments?

I would definitely agree with 1930s...great interwar item with an unmessed with SSI. These are becoming VERY difficult to locate mainly because the Air Corps was so relatively small in the "peace-time" years.

Nice item!
