kklinejr Posted February 17, 2007 Share #2 Posted February 17, 2007 The patch dates to a usage of 20 July 1937 - 19 March 1942. The latest I had seen them used "officially" was in an Army Air Forces recruitment film starring Jimmy Stewart...I believe the film was dated 1942. I have three uniforms with a pinwheel on it. One is a lifetime pilot's M1926 that dates to around 1937. Another is an aviation specialist that dates to 1938. The final is a Model 1940 four pocket enlisted coat.
