Randy Posted July 12, 2017 Share #3 Posted July 12, 2017 Looks possibly PI or Thai to me. They were in Thailand in the mid 60s to early 70s. Could also be PI as they went there quite often from Kadena for exercises and this style of patch was used in the 70s. The 1960s one usually had a red border that changed to black about the time they got the F-4 in 1971. Thai and earlier PI patches have a lot in common construction wise, I would have to hold it to say for sure. Leaning to PI made though. phillock Posted July 14, 2017 Author Share #4 Posted July 14, 2017 Again much appreciated for the comments gentlemen. Hopefully members do appreciate the comments by Randy and Johnny, they have a vast knowledge of a complex subject whether WWII or SEA 50's-80's and its really appreciated. Once again I do like the chronology of patches made , so please post away. Although AAF and USAF is not my chosen field I do like the SEA embroidery style of patches made in one of the most complex area's to collect. cheers Phill
