Rough USM3 Imperial

Hi guys - I picked up this USM3 Imperial at a consignment store today for 20 bucks. It's rough as hell but still cool enough to risk $20 on. The scabbord is a USM?. I think it's probably an 8 but it's too rusted to tell for sure and the scabbord overall is really rough. My plan was to clean the rust off and replace the leather rings on the handle but I thought I'd better check to make sure I'm not making a mistake. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Steve

Not a bad price for that. If you need any advice/ help on the handle let me know. I haven’t been on here for awhile as I have been involved in moving & all the headaches involved with that, but have a couple threads on here with pics of handle replacement.

Thanks Steve. I followed your instructions on the forum, bought some leather rings, jerry-rigged the webbing on the scabbard, Bill (Thorin) sent me a keeper and I had a ball rehabbing it. It will never be mistaken for original but it looks great hanging in my den. Couldn't have done it without your excellent tutorial! Steve

Glad the tutorial helped. After a few months off with everything being packed up for the move to NC, I started replacing 5 handles this week. 2 Case M4’s, 1 Case M3, a Camillus Mk2 & Cattaraugus 225q.

Definitely not up to the standard you guys set but at least SkipH won't have to worry about my trying to sell it as original condition. Thanks for all the great information over the past couple of years. Steve
