I also though I would post the EX-USN ships patches I had of the same named ships. Please enjoy. Salvage Sailor Posted July 9, 2017 Share #10 Posted July 9, 2017 Set of USNS Swiss Tex patches circa 1970's USNS MARSHFIELD (T-AK-282) Built in 1944 as SS Marshfield Victory, in 1968 she was converted to support the ballistic missile submarines based at Rota, Spain and Holy Loch, Scotland. In addition to enlarged crew spaces to accommodate additional personnel, silos were built into #3 hold used for transporting ballistic missiles to and from the SSBN's. She was laid up in 1992 and scrapped in 2006. Both sizes of her Swiss Tex patches.
