cerick1450 Posted June 30, 2017 Share #1 Posted June 30, 2017 Hello This disc was on a M1 Helmet liner. It is missing it's emblem. I am trying to identify what it was. I believe The vet was in a WW2 transportation squadron with the us AAF. It appears to be about 1 7/16 in diameter. I cannot see any ghosting of the image. I assumed it must be a standard Army eagle hat emblem? What do you think? Thanks
doyler Posted June 30, 2017 Share #2 Posted June 30, 2017 Looks like the cap disc that would have had the eagle in the center and the threaded post has separated from the eagle
cerick1450 Posted June 30, 2017 Author Share #3 Posted June 30, 2017 hat is what I thought. Is this the standard size for a Hat Eagle?
patches Posted June 30, 2017 Share #4 Posted June 30, 2017 Agreed, Enlistedmans cap device with the eagle snapped off. About the right size and one from the 30s/WWII as the disc is raw and not rolled with the hole for that tiny pin that would be found behind the top of the eagle for more security when fastened.
