Tim B Posted April 27, 2014 Share #14 Posted April 27, 2014 Another (Navy) CPO cap anchor with the Meyer Metal and shield hallmarks, similar to the Coast Guard version posted in post #12 above. The shield is under the catch and only the top letter "N" (reversed) is visible. Again, with the chain style fouling, it has to be dated late '41 to mid '42 when the design changed from rope to chain link.

WWIIDADS Posted May 4, 2016 Share #17 Posted May 4, 2016 Here is a very rare Enlisted Veterinary Corps Branch Insignia, Type III, 2 piece, screwback impressed mark Meyer Metal, and shield, probably circa 1937-1945. My father, who served in the Veterinary Corps as a Food Inspection Tech, T5 in WWII, wore an Officers clutch back collar brass on his Junior Officer Garrison Cap, and I've never seen pictured another enlisted grade piece of WWII design. Perhaps some of you have one you could share.
Flashlarue Posted March 15, 2018 Share #18 Posted March 15, 2018 2nd Lt., Meyer Metal, Shold-R-Form. Sorry about the photo quality but the curved pin only opens to about 25-30 degrees so it stays in the way.
