Insigina Hunter Posted November 7, 2010 #2 Posted November 7, 2010 Meyer mark on a Mini Major insignia measures 5/8 of an inch wide
Insigina Hunter Posted November 7, 2010 #3 Posted November 7, 2010 Mini 2nd LT bar measures 1/4in. by 3/4in.
Insigina Hunter Posted November 7, 2010 #4 Posted November 7, 2010 EGA from early-mid 20's. Note the reversed hallmark at the botton of the anchor stock - anyone seen this before? s/f Darrell These hallmarks are on the back of expert, rifle, and carbine bars. All three have the reversed hallmark on them teufelhunde though I do not know why they are.
TRR Posted March 11, 2013 #6 Posted March 11, 2013 Here are USAAC CB wings with the Meyer Metal mark and reverse shield. Wings are base metal with a sterling propeller attached.
TRR Posted March 21, 2013 #8 Posted March 21, 2013 Another for reference...34th Cavalry Insignia. Meyer Metal hallmark with reversed shield.
tomcatter Posted April 26, 2013 #9 Posted April 26, 2013 Meyer Metal hallmarks from USN pre-WWII Aviator wings:
TRR Posted August 27, 2013 #10 Posted August 27, 2013 Here is a flat brass two-piece enlisted cap badge with the Meyer Metal mark and regular shield. There is no mark on the back of the eagle. The hallmarks are stamped.
TRR Posted December 7, 2013 #11 Posted December 7, 2013 Clutchback Ordnance Corps Officer BOS insignia. Reversed raised shield.
Tim B Posted December 20, 2013 #12 Posted December 20, 2013 WW2 Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer Cap anchor, circa 1942 - '46? Stamped Meyer Metal with a raised Meyer shield.
Jay Seay Posted December 30, 2013 #13 Posted December 30, 2013 Just purchased caduceus. Mirror image lettering in raised shield.
Tim B Posted April 27, 2014 #14 Posted April 27, 2014 Another (Navy) CPO cap anchor with the Meyer Metal and shield hallmarks, similar to the Coast Guard version posted in post #12 above. The shield is under the catch and only the top letter "N" (reversed) is visible. Again, with the chain style fouling, it has to be dated late '41 to mid '42 when the design changed from rope to chain link.
WWIIDADS Posted May 4, 2016 #17 Posted May 4, 2016 Here is a very rare Enlisted Veterinary Corps Branch Insignia, Type III, 2 piece, screwback impressed mark Meyer Metal, and shield, probably circa 1937-1945. My father, who served in the Veterinary Corps as a Food Inspection Tech, T5 in WWII, wore an Officers clutch back collar brass on his Junior Officer Garrison Cap, and I've never seen pictured another enlisted grade piece of WWII design. Perhaps some of you have one you could share.
Flashlarue Posted March 15, 2018 #18 Posted March 15, 2018 2nd Lt., Meyer Metal, Shold-R-Form. Sorry about the photo quality but the curved pin only opens to about 25-30 degrees so it stays in the way.
